Our Story
Compass Occasions began in 2014, founded by Kayla and Valerie with a passion for thoughtful celebrations, creative event design, and bringing people together. In 2020, they opened Art’s Place, giving Compass Occasions a home in a historic gathering space in the heart of downtown Hutchinson.
Over the years, Art’s Place has welcomed weddings, showers, celebrations, meetings, and community gatherings—becoming a place where countless memories have been made.
In December 2025, Reyna Serna and Hector Euceda became the new owners of Compass Occasions, beginning a new chapter for both Compass Occasions and Art’s Place.
Our family came into this chapter with our own history of bringing people together. Reyna brings a background in baking and event décor, with experience creating celebrations from weddings to quinceañeras. Hector is a musician with experience coordinating large-scale events for church organizations. Together with our family, we bring experience in event coordination, marketing, hospitality, entertainment, and event management.
We are proud to honor what was built before us while bringing our own experiences and ideas into what comes next. Our vision is for Art’s Place to continue being a beautiful home for weddings and private celebrations while growing as a gathering place for live music, community events, Social Nights, and experiences that bring people together.
The story of Art’s Place is still being written, and we’re grateful to be part of its next chapter.
Reyna Serna
Co-Owner | Events, Décor & Guest Experience
Reyna brings creativity, hospitality, and hands-on event experience to Compass Occasions. As a baker with a background in event decorating, she has helped create celebrations ranging from weddings to quinceañeras and understands how the right details can transform a space and make an occasion feel truly personal.
Her experience gives her an eye for the elements guests remember—the décor, presentation, atmosphere, and thoughtful touches that make a celebration feel complete.
At Art’s Place, Reyna helps shape the wedding and event experience while bringing warmth and creativity to the next chapter of Compass Occasions. For her, every celebration is an opportunity to help a family bring its vision to life.
Hector Euceda
Co-Owner | Events, Entertainment & Community
Hector brings a background in music, live events, and large-scale event coordination to Compass Occasions. As a musician, he understands how atmosphere, sound, entertainment, and thoughtful programming can turn a gathering into an experience.
His experience includes organizing and coordinating large-scale events for church organizations, working with musicians, volunteers, programming, schedules, and the many moving pieces required to bring people together successfully.
At Art’s Place, Hector focuses on developing events and experiences that give people more reasons to gather—from weddings and private celebrations to concerts, Social Nights, Trivia, Music Bingo, and community events. He also works to build local partnerships and continue growing Art’s Place as a gathering place for Hutchinson and the surrounding communities.

Our team combines experience in event coordination, marketing, hospitality, music, décor, and large-scale event management. Each of us brings something different to the table, but we share the same goal: creating welcoming, well-organized experiences where people can celebrate and connect.
Jaqui
Marketing & Event Coordination
Jaqui is a marketing graduate with experience in event coordination. She brings a creative and strategic perspective to the team, helping us think about how events are presented, promoted, and experienced from beginning to end.
Her background in marketing and coordination supports both the growth of Art’s Place and the details behind the events we host.
Annye
Event Management & Operations
Annye brings hands-on experience organizing and managing large-scale events alongside Hector, particularly through events for church organizations. She understands the behind-the-scenes work required to coordinate people, schedules, volunteers, programming, and logistics.
At Art’s Place, that experience translates into helping events run smoothly and making sure both clients and guests feel taken care of.

Our experience together began long before our family became part of Compass Occasions. We have spent years planning together, serving together, performing together, solving problems together, and welcoming people together.
